Meet the Ollie Coach

Introducing Nuala Judge

Hi I’m Nuala.  I live in Armagh City, home to 2 Cathedrals, both named after St Patrick!  I grew up not far from here and have always been interested in people.  After leaving school, a degree in Psychology seemed a natural choice, which I very much enjoyed.  The years that followed involved a variety of roles; researcher, working with separating families, tutoring children, albeit often short-term contracts.  Along the way, I have pursued further study e.g. Family Mediation, Baby massage and also volunteered where possible e.g. Homestart, and Tiny Life (premature baby charity).  All of my roles, paid and unpaid, have a common thread of helping children, parents and families, whatever their struggles might be.

I always had a notion that I might return to University, when my children were older, either to follow some specialism of Developmental Psychology, or complete a P.G.C.E.  Meanwhile, I had followed up an advert in Psychologies magazine early in 2023, and used ollieandhissuperpowers.com to make contact with an Ollie Coach near me, for more information on what the training involved (Avril Annett - thank you).  Later that year, an opportunity arose to spend several months in a primary school, where children not labelled as struggling often needed support, as much as the children who were allocated additional support.  I loved helping the kids who were struggling, but soon knew that teaching in the traditional sense, wasn’t for me.  Supported by those I love, I applied to train as an Ollie Coach, and the rest as they say is history!

There have been many obstacles to dodge, and risks to take, on this learning journey roller coaster.  Last year, I found myself back at university, Regent’s University!  Now, I have joined Ollie’s army!  I can’t wait to use the creativity, the fun, and the power of the Ollie Model, to make a positive difference for young and old alike.
