My Ollie Journey - a rollercoaster of a ride
Metaphors
Metaphors are used to help our clients join the dots. We use metaphors to create a vivid images, express complex ideas, or to provide a new perspective by transferring the qualities of one thing to another. It allows the brain to work things out in a way that is specific to the client and each person will take something different from a metaphor.
A metaphor can be really powerful tool to help people move towards their positive solution state in a way that is totally right for them.
My Ollie Journey
We ask our Ollie trainees to write their own metaphor for their experience of training to become an Ollie Coach.
I think about my journey as an emotional rollercoaster. I started the course with trepidation, sitting on the ride with fear of what was ahead of me, and a high level of imposter syndrome. As the ride took off I immediately felt like I went upside down and wasn't quite sure what was happening. As the course progressed, with its highs, lows and loops I feel like I have learned so much about myself. Some things I have faced and conquered, others I still have some work to do on myself but, as I come to the end of the ride, as the carriage brings me slowly and calmly towards the end, I feel proud of the journey I have made. I have loved what I have learned and I am so very blessed with the new friendships I have made on the ride. AN OS20
